Bishop Be’Daun Ray Smith was born in Omaha, Nebraska to Pastor Ray Smith and the late Elect Lady Cassondra Smith. Bishop Smith spent his early years growing up in Faith Temple Church of God in Christ, where the late Bishop Vernon Richardson was pastor. Under Bishop Richardson’s tutelage, Bishop Smith learned the art of fasting and praying from his pastor and saw many signs and wonders. While traveling with many of the saints to the Holy Convocation in Memphis, Tennessee, Bishop Smith was saved and filled with the Holy Ghost on November 6, 2001, in the prayer room of the historic Mason Temple.
In 2005, Bishop Smith relocated to Memphis, Tennessee to attend LeMoyne-Owen College. As he pursued his degree in Business Administration, he felt the call of God to begin his preaching ministry at Deliverance Temple Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Superintendent Albert Clark. While under Superintendent Clark’s leadership, he began to travel throughout the United States, ministering the Gospel of salvation and deliverance.
Later, Bishop Smith united with the House of God, Incorporated, and served in many capacities of ministry, under Pastor Josie C. Williamson. Upon Pastor Williamson’s retirement, she chose Bishop Smith as her successor. After much prayer, Bishop Smith was led by the Lord to begin Greater Beth-El Temple, Incorporated, a growing ministry where he currently serves as pastor.
He has diligently worked in ministry for over 17 years, serving as Minister of Music, Youth Pastor, Worship Leader, Administrative Pastor, Evangelism President, and the Regional Youth Choir President for the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World. Bishop Smith is also a songwriter; one of his songs was submitted to the Gospel Music Workshop of America and recorded by the Memphis Pentecostal Assembly.
His passion is to do “Church Out of the Box,” exposing people to God’s presence and power in a form that is culturally relevant and untraditional, yet without compromise. His desire is to see signs and wonders in the life of the believer. With a profound emphasis on leadership development, coupled with a simple presentation of the Gospel, Pastor Be’Daun is an anointed speaker who has been privileged to minister to a global audience at conferences and churches around the world. God has given him a vision and a passion for seeing people restored by the power of God. He has a holistic ministry, meeting the natural and spiritual needs of people so that they can truly fulfill the purpose that God has for their lives.
